The Story

The Silent War 2086

  • Story and Illustration by Jacqueline Cordes
  • Inks and Colors by Daniel Haddock

Hisao is extremely honest, collects cats, enjoys walks in the park, and occasionally murders criminals. He meets a beautiful young woman named Mei who doesn’t mind his social quirks, but she also doesn’t know his biggest secret: he’s not human. When Mei witnesses his recovery from mortal wounds, she desperately seeks to find out what he is and also why she’s not afraid of him. Her best friend Kelsey thinks “vampire,” while a friendly scientist named Neil leans towards “alien,” and the police have good reasons to believe A.P.s (artificial people) created Hisao with implanted memories. Hisao plays along with their efforts to uncover his past.

Hisao is also entertained by a game of cat and mouse with a hidden, powerful, and somehow always watching Controller, who sends A.P.s to try to assassinate him. However, now that Mei is in the picture and becomes a pawn in the Controller’s game, the stakes have become much higher, and Hisao’s top priority is now to protect Mei and find and kill the elusive Controller.

The Silent War 2086 is an adult sci-fi graphic novel filled with supernatural action, mystery, and occasional dark humor.
